New Delhi: The country’s largest passenger vehicle (PV) maker, Maruti Suzuki India, on Saturday, reported marginal growth in its domestic wholesales (dispatches to dealers) of 1,60,791 units in February, compared with 1,60,271 units in the corresponding month last year. The growth was largely driven by Maruti’s sports utility vehicle (SUV) sales and marriage season demand during the month.
JSW MG Motor India retail sales up 16.3% at 4,956 units in Feb
New Delhi: JSW MG Motor India on Saturday reported a 16.3 per cent rise in retail sales at 4,956 units in February this year compared to 4,261 units in the same month last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Ltd. reported a 15% growth in overall auto sales for February 2025, reaching 83,702 vehicles. This includes exports and a 19% rise in domestic utility vehicle sales. The company attributes this success to the continued popularity of their SUV models.

Indian tax authorities are turning up the heat on Skoda Auto Volkswagen as the company is accused of wrongly classifying its car import for the last 12 years to evade $1.4 billion in taxes. February car dispatches shake up OEM rankings, 2Ws show mixed trends

New Delhi: Automobile dispatches to dealers were mixed in February this year.
In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, market leader Maruti Suzuki maintained its No. 1 position, reporting a marginal year-on-year growth. However, mini car sales (Alto, S-Presso) declined to 10,226 units in February this year, down from 14,782 units in the same month last year.
On the other hand, sales of compact cars like the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR, and utility vehicles including the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6 saw a year-on-year increase.
Last month, ETAuto reported how January car dispatches showed modest growth as demand remained muted.
Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra, which had been trailing Tata Motors at the third spot, has surpassed Hyundai Motor India during February 2025 to secure the No. 2 spot.
“In February, we clocked SUV sales of 50,420, a growth of 19% and 83,702 total vehicles, a growth of 15%. This strong performance is a result of a continued positive momentum for our SUV portfolio,” Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M said.
This is the first time in the current fiscal year that the maker of the XUV700 and Thar Roxx SUVs has secured the second position in monthly sales in the PV market.

Delta Electronics India targets 30% YoY growth in EV segment
The Indian arm of Taiwanese manufacturing giant Delta Electronics is anticipating its EV business to match or surpass its current revenue share by 2030. Though EV currently contributes only a small portion of the company’s revenue, it is projected to grow at 30 per cent year-on-year (YoY), driven by new product launches like the 240kW DC Fast EV Charger, says Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India.

Honda Cars India reported a decline in sales to 7,325 units domestically, accounting for a 15.6 per cent year-on-year drop compared with January 2024 when they had sold 8,681 units. Meanwhile, the company recorded a 9.8 per cent year-on-year growth with total exports reaching 4,979 units in January 2025. Its January 2024 exports figure was 4,531 units.
